Description

One of my hybrids that stood out immediately as a seedling. This small plant has a lot of leaves with nice large spines. It of course has the reddish petals with green tips–a trait from the seed parent that seems dominant in its progeny. The clone of Deuterocohnia lotteae I used is the select seedling I grew that itself has very nice spination, better than I’ve seen on other Deuterocohnia lotteae. The Deuterocohnia longipetala Silver (seed parent) has very silver leaves, but it doesn’t seem to be a trait that carries through well to its progeny.

This hybrid stays pretty tidy looking, even in clumps. A solitary rosette fits comfortably in a 4″ pot and a reasonably sized clump looks good in a 6″ pot.
