Aechmea Blond Bert

Description

Aechmea Blond Bert is another mystery plant for me. I have called it Blond Bert because of its overall pale color; both the soft, light green base color and light brown banding. It appears to be an Aechmea milsteiniana hybrid with probably Aechmea orlandiana (or possibly Aechmea fosteriana). It grows to a fairly large size for the orlandiana-related group of plants with a spreading, open rosette. Like most in the group, the offsets grow on woody stolons showing its epiphytic nature and potential to look great mounted.
