Description
Hechtia purpusii is another species in the spineless group of Hechtia, found in the state of Veracruz. Similar in size to H. hidalguense and H. tillandsioides, but has much fewer trichomes on the underside of the leaves and fewer leaves in the rosette. When it has space, the leaves are held out in a more stellate conformation than H. hidalguense and H. tillandsioides (arranged more erect). The third photo shows a comparison between H. hidalguense (left) and H. purpusii (right). Fresh offsets with roots will be what is available.
