Aechmea Foster’s Freckles

Description

Aechmea Foster’s Freckles is a hybrid between Aechmea fendleri and Aechmea orlandiana.

Grown in bright light, the leaves will have a reddish to pink bronzy blush with the freckled spotting that gives this plant its name. I have only had this plant bloom when pushed with fertilizer in the greenhouse, conditions where the leaves lose that colorful blush.

Grown in conditions where the leaves blush, the plant grows to less than 2 feet tall and is comfortable in an 8″ pot.
